HCM Data Scrambler. Protect Sensitive Employee Data

Prepare and protect employee HR data while maintaining its integrity in your test environments.

Personally identifiable information (PII), such as national identification, address, credit card data as well as sensitive HR data, such as benefit elections, family member data must be protected in your SAP test environments. Testing this data must be treated with utmost sensitivity, as testers are more exposed to other employees' HR data. Whether or not appropriate security authorizations are in place, the wrong leakage of HR data can lead to grave consequences.

With HCM Data Scrambler, data privacy can be protected by masking employee data using an intuitive, configurable solution. The HCM Data Scrambler Program is run in your SAP test environment to update sensitive employee data based on your business needs.

The solution is configurable. A transaction allows you to determine which infotypes, subtypes, and fields should be included in the scramble. Even custom infotypes, custom subtypes, and custom fields are available for scramble. You can also differentiate by country or apply the scramble for employees in all countries.

HCM Data scrambler introductes pre-defined functions to add intelligence to the process of scrambling data. For example, the function "[RANDP], 20, 30" will produce a random number between 20 and 30. Additional functions and logic can be implemented using a provided Scrambler Business Add-In (BAdI). You can implement this BAdI to handle your customer-specific logic.
