SAP® Talent Management

JetBlue Airways Corporation provides passenger air transportation services in the United States. It operates approximately 550 daily flights serving 53 destinations in 21 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Caribbean; and a fleet of 98 Airbus A320 aircraft and 23 EMBRAER 190 aircraft. JetBlue Airways, through its subsidiary, LiveTV, LLC, provides in-flight entertainment systems for commercial aircraft, including live in-seat satellite television, digital satellite radio, wireless aircraft data link service, and cabin surveillance systems. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Forest Hills, New York.

The Project

After a period of stabilization from their core SAP HR implementation, JetBlue decided to launch a series of Talent Management re-engineering programs in an effort to improve processes, provide more automation, and leverage their SAP HCM investment. Key talent management areas including Performance Management, Compensation Management and E-Recruiting were identified as opportunities for process improvements and more holistic system integration. Special focus was placed on re-enforcing JetBlue’s “pay-for-performance” philosophy by streamlining processes and using system functionality inherent within SAP's HCM suite.

The Solution

Worklogix assisted JetBlue from the project's inception through post-implementation support. Several modules of SAP’s HCM Talent Management Suite – Performance Management (Objective Setting and Appraisals), Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) and E-Recruiting (version 6.00) – were implemented using industry best practices. Processes involved heavy use of the SAP NetWeaver Portal for delivery, including performance appraisals for employees and managers, compensation planning for managers and executives, and online job search for internal and external candidates. Standard SAP functionality was leveraged as much as possible and customization was provided as necessary based on business needs. The implementation used many of the Worklogix components from the Performance Management and Enterprise Compensation Accelerated Suites.
